With cmcalibrate 0.22 for win32/64 and cmsearch 0.11 for win32/64 the screensaver shouldn't start multiple times anymore.

A problem does still exist with the screensaver though. It starts OK one time but never shuts off when the application is no longer running.

For example: With the BOINC screensaver turned on and activating...

If I'm running Projects A, B, C on three of my cores and RNA starts on the 4th, the screensaver for RNA opens as a window often behind the actual program which isn't visible.

Also, and more importantly, when BOINC stops doing work on the RNA project (even if the WU is finished) the RNA graphic continues to run. It will do so till I click the close button on the graphic window. Frankly, this is a problem because it seems to be a flash application instead of a real BOINC screensaver. This isn't good because it can't be shut off by BOINC manager. It keeps sucking up screen time by running even when the RNA project is done and gone.

Yes, the current RNA World screensaver is a Flash-driven set of videos that we have generated as a PRELIMINARY solution for those that like fancy graphics. ;-) In the FAQ we have described a work-around for the case that multiple windows are opening. If you do not like the screensaver to run (which indeed consumes up to 80% of CPU load), please simply disable it in Windows (it won't run under Linux anyway). At a future time we will seek to implement it for all operating systems in more nice way, i.e. by trying to use OpenGL and by also adding a some user information. In fact, if you know someone who is firm with programming such screensavers, just let us know. We would be very happy to have some help with this one to alleviate the current screensaver situation since at present we have to put all our programming efforts into different things more related to the scientific objectives of the RNA World project.
